Although the Redmi K30 has not yet been officially announced, the Xiaomi management already seems to be looking ahead. Today the president of Xiaomi, Lin Bin, has indeed promulgated some words that will make the supporters of 5G technology in particular happy.
Lin Bin: Redmi K30 and successors will adopt Dual-Mode NSA / SA type 5G
As often happens in these cases, Lin Bin's communication comes directly from the famous Weibo social network. On the Chinese platform, Lin Bin said specifically that starting with Redmi K30, all the brand's 5G smartphones will adopt 5G Dual Mode NSA / SA technology.
Some of you may be wondering: what is the Dual Mode NSA / SA technology? Well said very simply, depending on the mode supported by the smartphone, the device will be able to hook up to some antennas instead of others. Many smartphones with 5G network support currently on the market like the Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G and the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 5G presented at the beginning of the year work with the 5G NSA network. This means that in all those cases in which we will have antennas that cover the SA type bands, the two terminals will not be able to connect.
Unfortunately, therefore, as often happens when you are an "early adopter", those who have purchased one of the two devices in question will have a less than optimal user experience even when the 5G network expands. This is because the new antennas will mainly (if not only) support the SA type network due to its advantages.
What are these advantages? The SA type 5G adopts a Cloud 5G Core technology, greatly reduces latency times, supports more advanced network subdivision modes and will be easier to implement on new devices.
In any case, returning to the words of Lin Bin. Xiaomi promises to release only devices with 5G Dual Mode NSA / SA technology starting from Redmi K30 the 10 December is coming. So from a certain point of view the company admits to have made a mistake, even if unfortunately it was not the only one in this 2019.
Finally, remember that Redmi K30 coming next week will most likely equip a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G as a processor, a minimum of 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory.
