Day full of news regarding the next flagship killer of the Xiaomi sub-brand, we are clearly referring to the Redmi K30 Pro. After seeing some photos of the smartphone ii what seems to be the basic version, the vice president of Xiaomi Group and general manager of the Redmi brand, Lu Weibing, has now anticipated an even more interesting device: the Redmi K30 Pro Zoom.
Redmi K30 Pro Zoom confirmed, will it have 5x optical zoom with OIS?
As we can see in the screenshot just above, in fact, Lu Weibing shared on Weibo (the Chinese Twitter) a rather intriguing message "I have a new phone". But the message itself is not the data that interests us, but the text that appears just above "Shared by Redmi K30 Pro Zoom" is much more important.
So the message shared by Lu Weibing does nothing but confirm an indiscretion that we had reported some weeks ago. This suggested the existence of a more premium version of the K30 Pro called "Zoom", with the main difference (if not the only one) residing in the photographic sector. In particular, as the name suggests, this Zoom version would adopt an optical zoom telephoto camera of at least 5X, therefore similar to the one we find on the latest Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro.

In addition, another rumor leaked today, also suggests that the camera with 5X optical zoom (and digital up to 50X) will be accompanied by OIS, or an optical stabilization. We will also find the OIS on the main sensor which, unless surprises will be the modern 686MP Sony IMX64. Sony's sensor won't be as premium as Samsung's with 108MP resolution but still has a size of 1 / 1.7 inches and supports pixel binning technology to combine four pixels into one, effectively increasing the amount of light stored. The main sensor would then be accompanied by an ultra wide angle camera, a telephoto and a macro (alternatively a depth of field sensor).
Among other features, the smartphone will surely arrive with the new and performing Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 as a processor, coupled with at least 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB of UFS 3.0 internal memory. The K30 Pro Zoom should then adopt a large battery, most likely 4500mAh or more, with support for fast charging with at least 33W power.
Finally, the only specifications still totally unknown are those of the display. We do not know if the smartphone adopts a 60Hz or 90Hz AMOLED display or if to lower the Redmi prices you opt for the same 120Hz LCD screen as on the basic version.
