A couple of days ago we reported on the possibility that the next Redmi K40 in the standard version would come with a new chipset from MediaTek with the model number MT6893, also known as Dimensity 1200.
Redmi K40 series will have 3 models: Snapdragon 888 starting at only 2299 yuan (380 €)
Well, apparently the matter is more tangled than we thought. According to new rumors, in fact, the Redmi K40 series will not only see two models, the standard version and the "Pro" version equipped with MediaTek Dimensity 1200 and Snapdragon 888 respectively, but will actually be released three models in total: the standard Redmi K40 with MediaTek Dimensity 1200, the K40 (always standard) with Snapdragon 888 and the Redmi K40 Pro also with the Snapdragon 888 on board.
The leak that revealed the various models to us also revealed the prices (for China) of each variant of CPU and RAM / internal memory. We will therefore have the Redmi K40 with Dimensity 1200, 6GB / 128GB at the price of 2299 Yuan (290 euros); the Redmi K40 with Dimensity 1200, 8GB / 128GB at the price of 2499 yuan (320 euros); Redmi K40 with Snapdragon 888, 12GB / 256GB priced at 2999 yuan (380 euros). Moving on to the more premium version we have the Redmi K40 Pro with Snapdragon 888, 8GB / 128GB at the price of 3299 yuan (420 euros), the 8GB / 256GB version for sale at 3599 yuan (460 euros) and finally the 12GB / 256GB option which will be sold for 3999 yuan (510 euros). Summing up:
Redmi K40
- Dimensity 1200, 6 + 128GB at the price of 2299 Yuan;
- Dimensity 1200, 8 + 128GB priced at 2499 yuan;
- Snapdragon 888, 12 + 256GB priced at 2999 yuan.
Redmi K40 Pro
- Snapdragon 888, 8 + 128GB priced at 3299 yuan;
- Snapdragon 888, 8 + 256GB priced at 3599 yuan;
- Snapdragon 888, 12 + 256GB priced at 3999 yuan.
As we have seen, these are very competitive prices for Redmi's next series of flagships. Especially if we take into consideration that the standard Redmi K40 with the performing Snapdragon 888 on board according to the leak should only cost 2999 yuan in China, or about 380 euros at the current exchange rate.
As for the Redmi K40 Pro instead, it starts from around 420 euros and reaches up to 510 euros to have 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal memory, identical to the starting price of the Xiaomi Mi 11 in the cheaper version.
