Redmi K50S and K50S Pro officially anticipated: coming with 200MP camera

A few hours ago, Lu Weibing, the vice president of Xiaomi Group China and general manager of the Redmi brand, personally announced that "the last masterpiece" of the Redmi K50 series will officially debut in August.

Redmi K50S and K50S Pro officially anticipated: coming with 200MP camera

According to previous reports, the two new devices of the K50 series should be named K50S and K50S Pro, of which the K50S Pro model has model number 22081212C and the K50S has model number 22071212AC.

In terms of the base configuration, the K50S series will be equipped with the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 processor. This chip is based on TSMC's new, more advanced 4nm manufacturing process. The frequency of the super core was increased to 3,2 GHz and the AnTuTu benchmark score exceeded 1,1 million points. So a highly performing chip, but at the same time more efficient. The processor will then be accompanied by up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of storage space.

In addition, the K50S Pro will also be equipped with an OLED-type screen with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, along with a 5000 mAh battery and support for ultra-fast charging of 120 W.

But the most interesting specification lies in the photographic sector, the K50S Pro will in fact be the first smartphone from Redmi to equip a 200 megapixel main camera. This main camera does not adopt the Samsung ISOCELL HP1 sensor used by the Moto X30 Pro, but the Samsung ISOCELL Bright HP3. This sensor has a 0,56 micron single pixel area and the sensor size is 1 / 1,4 inch, which is 20% smaller than the HP1. This means that the more compact camera module makes the smartphone thinner and lighter.

Finally, as regards the price, knowing the Redmi price ranges, the Redmi K50S should have a starting price between 3000-3500 yuan (435-500 euros).
