A few days ago, Redmi announced that the Redmi Note 12 series will be officially launched on October 27th. After that, the next coolest smartphone that will see the light of day should be part of the Redmi K60 series.
Redmi K60 Gaming Edition certified on IMEI: it will be the first Redmi with Snapdragon 8 Gen2
Well, today a device of the series would have been caught on the site of the well-known IMEI certification body, we refer in particular to the Redmi K60 Gaming Edition.
The model is displayed with the model number “23011310C”. We also discover that its internal code is "M10" and its code name that is used during the research and development period turns out to be "Socrates". While the code name for the processor model is “kailua”.
Staying on the subject, previous leaks have confirmed that "kailua" would actually be Qualcomm's next-generation flagship chip, hence the Snapdragon 8 Gen2. The processor will have an 8-core design, with an ultra-large Cortex-X3 core and clocked at around 3,0 GHz.
Some Chinese analysts have revealed that the gaming version of the Redmi K60 will be released in January, before the Chinese Lunar New Year. The Redmi K60 Gaming Edition, together with the Xiaomi 13 series, will form the first wave of smartphones of the Xiaomi brand with the new Snapdragon 8 Gen2 processor, so as to meet the needs of the most enthusiastic users.
As for the other devices of the Redmi K60 series, we will have the standard version which should be the one equipped with the Snapdragon 8+ chip, while the Pro version will be equipped with the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen2 processor. So an upgrade over the previous series.
In fact, remember that compared to the Redmi K50 and K50 Pro, the K60 series will be completely based on Qualcomm's chipset, instead of MediaTek and Qualcomm respectively.
Also, a novelty on the Redmi K60 series will be support for wireless charging. This will be Redmi's first smartphone to support wireless charging.
