According to the latest rumors, the Redmi K80 Extreme Edition could be launched earlier than expected, with a official presentation expected at the end of June 2025. This represents a significant acceleration from the previous generation, the Redmi K70 Extreme Edition, announced in July 2024. Early reports suggest that the new device will focus on high performance and excellent value for money, cementing Redmi’s K series as one of the most competitive in the affordable flagship segment.
Redmi K80 Extreme Edition to arrive sooner than expected
The Redmi K80 Extreme Edition will be equipped with the MediaTek Dimension 9400+, a high-end chipset based on TSMC's second-generation 3nm process. Its configuration includes a combination of cores optimized to maximize power and energy efficiency. The Cortex-X925 will ensure high-level performance in the most demanding tasks, while the three Cortex-X4 cores will contribute to an effective balance between power and fluidity. The four Cortex-A720 cores will instead be designed to optimize power consumption, offering efficient management of daily tasks.
According to estimates, the Overall score on AnTuTu could exceed 3 million, demonstrating a significant improvement over previous models. In addition, the device will continue to integrate a dedicated graphics chip that will offer advanced features such as game interpolation, super resolution and image optimization, ensuring a smooth and detailed gaming experience.
The Redmi K80 Extreme Edition will feature a 6,8 inch OLED display with 1.5K resolution, featuring ultra-thin bezels on all sides. The choice of a design with wide corners further improves the screen-to-body ratio, offering an immersive and modern visual experience. The device will maintain the design language already seen in the K80 series, with a circular camera module and premium materials. The central structure will be metal, while the back will use glass, ensuring resistance and an elegant finish.
One of the most impressive aspects of the Redmi K80 Extreme Edition will be its battery, with a capacity greater than 7000mAh. This choice aims to ensure exceptional autonomy, allowing users to use the device for long periods without worrying about recharging.
