La REDMI K80 series, launched in November last year, captured the market's attention with the K80 and K80 Pro models. Now, a new model is preparing to make its entrance: the REDMI K80 Ultra. This third model in the series is scheduled for release in the middle of this year and promises to bring with it some interesting new features.
REDMI K80 Ultra to use new MediaTek chip (leak)

Today, blogger “Smart Pikachu” has indeed revealed some key specifications of the REDMI K80 Extreme Edition. One of the main features will be the absence of the periscope telephoto lens, which may disappoint some users interested in photography. However, the device will compensate with other high-end features.
The K80 Ultra will use a metal midframe and glass body, while also supporting ultrasonic fingerprint recognition. This gives the device a sleek look and solid build, while still maintaining convenience and security with the advanced fingerprint sensor.
One of the most important innovations is the adoption of the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ chip. This chip represents a semi-iterative version of the Dimensity 9400, based on TSMC’s third-generation 3nm process. The Dimensity 9400+ will continue to utilize the full architectural design of the Dimensity 9400, with an improvement in the core CPU frequency. This should translate into higher performance and greater power efficiency.

The REDMI K80 Ultra is expected with a 1.5K OLED screen, with a resolution that promises to deliver sharp images and vivid colors. The battery will have a capacity of no less than 6500mAh, ensuring long-lasting autonomy. In addition, the device will support dust and water resistance with IP68 certification, making it suitable for use in various environmental conditions.
An interesting aspect of the K80 Ultra is the price. Thanks to the use of MediaTek chips, the production costs will be lower than the K80 Pro version equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. This could translate into a more affordable price for consumers.
For reference, the REDMI K70 Ultra starts at 2.599 yuan (around 340 euros), the K70 Pro at 3.299 yuan (around 432 euros), and the K80 Pro at 3.699 yuan (around 484 euros). The K80 Extreme Edition is expected to be priced competitively, offering good value for money.
