After discovering a few days ago that the new Redmi Notes 12 Pro 5G è among the 5 best smartphones for autonomy in its category, today the well-known photographic benchmarking platform, DxOMark, has instead released the results obtained from the camera sector.

Let's start with the total score which as we can see in the image above is 102 points. This score is then divided into different categories, so we have the photo category in which the smartphone obtained 108 points, in the Bokeh category (blur effect) it obtained 60 points, in the preview category it obtained 61 points, in the zoom category it obtained 70 points and finally in the video category the device scored 108.

With 102 points, the Redmi Notes 12 Pro 5G he finished 91st in the all-around and al second place in the Advanced category ($200-400). Behind only the OnePlus Nord 2T with a score of 114.
Going to the review, according to the DxOMark team, the main selling points of the device are its target exposure and white balance. The camera's white balance was found to be accurate enough for indoor and outdoor conditions, but it didn't perform the best in low-light conditions. While texture and noise were acceptable results, especially for outdoors.
When it comes to autofocus, the Redmi 12 Pro 5G was generally slow and the camera struggled to maintain autofocus consistency, particularly for HDR images, indoor and low-light scenes . While for bokeh, the depth estimation came naturally for its market segment.
Finally, when capturing video, the device provided accurate target exposure and good color white balance in outdoor conditions. That said some autofocus judder and instability proved to be noticeable under most of the conditions tested, but mostly indoors and in low-light conditions.
