The brand Xiaomi is known for its relentless pace in launching new smartphones that often redefine value for money in the global market. Well, the latest scoop from the well-known blogger Digital Chat Station suggests that Redmi's next phone will be a mid-range device that will aim to win over users with its performance.
New Redmi with Snapdragon 7s Gen3 chip coming soon, is it the Note 14 Pro?
The new model, which still does not have an official name but is speculated to be the Notes redmi 14 Pro, is said to be equipped with a 1.5K OLED display and the SM7635 processor, also known as Snapdragon 7s Gen3. This chipset is the latest addition to the Snapdragon family and promises high performance, especially in image processing, making it ideal for a phone that aims to stand out in the photographic field.
The predecessor, the Notes redmi 13 Pro, launched in September 2023, has already made headlines for its impressive specifications and a competitive starting price of 1399 yuan (180 euros). Available in four colors – Midnight Black, Star Sand White, Time Blue and Light Dream Galaxy – the Redmi Note 13 Pro sported an elegant AG matte glass back and a 6.67-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2712×1220.
The Redmi Note 13 Pro was equipped with the Snapdragon 7s Gen2 processor, a 5100mAh battery and support for 67W fast charging. The rear camera setup included a 200MP main sensor (Samsung S5KHP3), joined by an 8MP ultra-wide-angle (Sony IMX355) and a 2MP macro (OmniVision OV02B10), as well as a 16MP front camera (OmniVision OV16A1Q).
Although the official details on the new Redmi Note 14 Pro are still shrouded in mystery, the rumors suggest that Xiaomi could continue to focus on a thin and light design, while maintaining a focus on photographic quality. The new device is expected to compete with other mid-range smartphones that focus on photography capabilities, such as the upcoming Vivo S19 series.
At the moment we do not have precise information on the price or launch date. However, considering Xiaomi's strategy, we can expect the Redmi Note 14 Pro to launch in China by Autumn 2024. Global markets may have to wait until early 2025.
