The last medium range presented in China by Xiaomi at the end of August, the Redmi Note 8, which in Italy was launched in a slightly improved version with NFC and the name of Notes 8T, sees today the arrival of a new variant for the moment dedicated only to the Chinese market.
As you may have already understood from the title, this is an aesthetic upgrade only to the Redmi Note 8 series which will be available from November 18 in a Nebula Purple (purple) color. This is added to the Blue, White and Black range already on sale in the Asian country for several months.
Redmi Note 8 in Nebula Purple coloring presented in China
The new Redmi Note 8 in Nebula Purple will be available only in versions with 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory. So for the moment there is no option with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, instead present for other colors.
Maximum amount of internal memory apart, the smartphone remains as it is in previous versions, so we find an 6,39-inch LCD screen with TÜV Rheinland Eye certification and a Screen to Body ratio (screen-shell ratio) of 90%.
We then have four rear cameras, including the main one from 48MP produced by Samsung (Samsung GM1) with f / 1,79 opening, a secondary from 8MP with ultra wide-angle lens, a depth sensor from 2MP and a camera from 2MP for the macro. While for selfies we have an 13MP sensor with various embellishment modes.
Also on the back we find a new fingerprint sensor smaller than the 30% which, thanks to its small size and an additional treatment, is almost invisible or at least difficult to notice at first sight.
Switching to internal hardware instead, the smartphone equips a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665. A processor that brings energy improvements with an 11nm production process. The new CPU will then be powered by the typical 4000mAh battery of the Redmi Note series for at least two days of autonomy.
Finally, among other specifications we have a USB Type-C port that has support for fast charging to 18W, an infrared emitter (IR), an audio jack from 3.5mm to be able to connect our favorite headphones / speakers. Recall that unlike the Redmi Note 8T presented in Europe, the Note 8 does not have the NFC module.
As for the prices of the new version, these should be identical to those of the other colors, therefore a starting price of 999 Yuan (126 €) for the version with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory and 1199 Yuan (150 €) if you want 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.
