Redmi Note 8 Pro presented with 64MP sensor and 6,53 display ″

As anticipated by Redmi herself in recent days, the Redmi Note 8 which we saw in this post was not the only smartphone to be announced today. The Xiaomi sub-brand has also presented the new Redmi Note 8 Pro, a device that sees several changes compared to its younger brother, especially in terms of computing power.

So let's find out how the Note 8 Pro intends to challenge the various flagships from 400 euro and beyond, even if it costs much less!

Redmi Note 8 Pro official specifications

Let's start from the most interesting component in this Redmi Note 8 Pro, or the CPU. The smartphone in fact adopts the new MediaTek Helio G90T processor, a chip that uses the modern ARM Cortex-A76 architecture that manages to achieve exceptional results on a par with other 2018 flagships with Qualcomm Snapdragon processor 845, at least on paper (, promising you can see the AnTuTu test leaked earlier).

The Helio G90T is also called the first processor dedicated to gaming, with a dual liquid cooling system, an antenna system that avoids slowing down and support for the 4G and WiFi network at the same time. This means that you will never lose the line in the most important game moments. And yes, there will also be a dedicated controller with a price of 99 Yuan (12 €) for the first buyers of the device.

Another important news on the Redmi Note 8 Pro is found in the new photographic compartment. The terminal is in fact equipped with the new sensor from Samsung from well 64MP, the ISOCELL GW1, this sensor has a size of 1 / 1,7 inches and is one of the largest ever seen on a smartphone. In other words, it is as big as the Sony IMX582 that we find in Huawei's flagship P30 Pro. The sensor is able to take photos at a resolution of 9248 × 6936 pixels that have a size of 1,6 microns, while ISOCELL Plus and Intelligent technology ISOs are used to improve color reproduction, reduce noise and much more. Finally, the camera is able to shoot 4K video, record super slow motion video at 960 frames per second and take photos in Super Night mode.

As for the other cameras instead, we have a secondary from 8MP with ultra wide-angle lens, a depth sensor from 2MP and a camera from 2MP to take macro photos. While for selfies we have an 20MP sensor supported by different artificial intelligence embellishment modes.

Remaining on the front, under the 20MP camera we find a new display with quite mammoth dimensions. The Redmi Note 8 Pro in fact adopts a 6,53-inch diagonal screen with Full HD + resolution and TÜV Rheinland certification, or rather brings poco eye stress. But the most interesting info released by Redmi is the one concerning the screen-body ratio, the smartphone gets a 91,4% of StB ratio, a very high percentage for a device that is not part of the flagship category. The huge display is then covered with a layer of anti-shock and anti-scratch Corning Gorilla Glass 5 glass, as well as the back.

As for the other specifications, the Redmi Note 8 Pro is powered by a large 4500mAh battery for at least two days of autonomy, which can be recharged up to 18W through the USB-C type port. We have the presence of the NFC module to be able to pay electronically or otherwise (at least in China), there is the 3.5mm audio jack and the infrared emitter to control different "non smart" devices.

Redmi Note 8 Pro official specifications

The Redmi Note 8 Pro will be available in China in different memory variants ranging from 6GB RAM with 64GB of internal memory for sale to 1399 Yuan (176 €), 6GB with 128GB to 1599 Yuan (201 €) and 8GB with storage 128GB to 1799 Yuan (227 €). We also specify that the RAM is of type LPDDR4x 2133Mhz, while the internal memory is UFS 2.1.

We always specify that the prices refer to the Chinese market.

cit .: "[..] We have the presence of the NFC module to be able to pay electronically or otherwise (at least in China) [..]"
In what sense at least in China? With smartphones based on Android OS there should not be the problem of NFC closed to the oriental market as for many oriental smartbands. On many smartbands based on proprietary OS there is a software limitation, not a hardware one, while on Android devices or derivatives such as Android Wear (be these smartphones / smartbands / sport watches, etc., etc.) such limitations should not exist.

Right, I hadn't indicated the speech on blocking Google Pay on rooted devices, but this speech can be easily overcome by using Magisk as root manager / manager since it has the "Hide" function and therefore the applications (Google Pay, app of banks, etc, etc) do not understand that the device has been rooted and therefore work correctly.
For those who do not know it, Magisk has been developed and supported for a long time directly by xda-developers.
