After weeks of various leaks and official teasers, the new Redmi Note 8 was finally presented today. The smartphone is the successor of the excellent Redmi Note 7, the king of the mid-range band for much of the 2019 with over 20 million units sold.
The Note 8 does not differ much from its predecessor both in terms of design and specifications, but still brings some really interesting updates. Let's find out together!
Redmi Note 8 official with 4 cameras and StB ratio of the 90%
Let's start with the design precisely, the Redmi Note 8 arrives with the same body (front / back) in Corning Gorilla Glass 5 of the Note 7, it is therefore resistant to scratches and impacts both on the front and on the back (as we have seen in this post). Furthermore, the screen also appears to be unchanged with an 6,39 inch LCD panel with TÜV Rheinland Eye certification and a Screen to Body ratio (screen-shell ratio) of the 90%.
Where we see the biggest difference is instead on the back. The new Redmi Note 8 equips four rear cameras, including the main 48MP produced by Samsung (Samsung GM1) with an aperture of f / 1,79, a secondary 8MP with ultra wide-angle lens, a 2MP depth sensor and a 2MP camera for macros. While for selfies we have a 13MP sensor with the various embellishment modes.
Also in the back we find then a new fingerprint sensor smaller than about 30%, which at least on paper should work as well as that of the Note 7. Moreover, both for its small size and for the additional treatment, the sensor is almost invisible or otherwise difficult to notice.
Moving on to the internal hardware instead, as we already knew for weeks, the new smartphone equips a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665, a good upgrade compared to the SD 660 of the Note 7, which brings especially energy improvements with an 11nm production process against the 14nm of the predecessor.
The new CPU will then be powered by the typical 4000mAh battery of the Note series for at least two days of autonomy.
Finally, among other specifications we have a USB Type-C port that has support for fast charging to 18W, an infrared emitter (IR), an audio jack from 3.5mm to be able to connect our favorite headphones / speakers and four upgrades from the audio point of view with 1217 Super Linear type speaker, removal of dust with sound waves, a size of 4mm and a self-cleaning system; Redmi even says it is possible to extinguish a candle with the sound power of the case.
As for prices in China, the Redmi Note 8 will have a starting price of 999 Yuan (126 €) for the version with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory, 1199 Yuan (150 €) if you want 6GB of RAM and 64GB storage and finally 1399 Yuan (176 €) to have 6GB of RAM and 128GB of memory.
We always specify that the prices refer to the Chinese market.

Really…. the same 48MP Samsung camera of the Note 7 also to the Note 8, rightly for us !!! They with the Note 7 pro had the Sony 48Mp !!!
Oh yes, but you have to consider that the Note 8 starts from 126 € in China. Those few extra dollars for the Sony sensor could make the difference between gain and loss. Then maybe I'm wrong ..
