Xiaomi's sub-brand, Redmi, has finally added two more new options to the ninth generation of the much-loved Note series. We therefore have the Redmi Note 9 and Note 9 Pro which join the Redmi Note 9S presented a few weeks ago; let's find out more!
Redmi Note 9 and 9 Pro official: Specifications and prices
Let's start with the Redmi Note 9, which as the name suggests is the cheapest version of the whole series, including the Redmi Note 9S. The smartphone adopts a 6,53-inch diagonal screen and is therefore more compact than the Note 9S and Note 9 Pro brothers with a 6,67 display. However, the resolution remains Full HD + (2340 x 1080) with a maximum brightness of 450 nits. The display is then covered in Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for greater scratch resistance and incorporates a hole in the upper left with the 13MP front camera for selfies.
Moving on the back, we have a total of four cameras, with a 48MP main sensor (most likely the Samsung ISOCELL Bright GM1) with a focal aperture of f / 1,79, supported by an 8MP ultra wide angle lens (f / 2,2 aperture , 2), a 2MP macro lens and finally a XNUMXMP depth sensor for taking photos with the bokeh effect.
The Redmi Note 9 is powered by a MediaTek Helio G85, a 12nm octa-core processor, coupled with 3GB or 4GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of internal memory (expandable via microSD card).
As for autonomy instead, we find a large 5020mAh battery with support for rapid charging at 18W through the USB Type-C port (even if a 22,5W charger is provided). Other specifications include a 3,5mm audio jack, an infrared emitter, NFC module and Bluetooth 5.0.
Let's go now to see the Redmi Note 9 Pro, a similar device in almost everything compared to the Redmi Note 9S. In fact, we find the same 6,67-inch diagonal screen, Full HD + resolution (2400 x 1080) and maximum brightness of 450 nits. There is also a hole on the screen, but this time positioned centrally, and a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 glass cover that also extends to the back.
Since we are talking about the rear, this is where we see the first substantial change from the Note 9S. The new Redmi Note 9 Pro in fact adopts a 64MP main sensor instead of 48MP, in particular we find the Samsung ISOCELL Bright GW1, with focal aperture of f / 1,89 and pixel size of 1.6μm thanks to Super Pixel 4 technology in 1. The main camera will then be paired with an 8MP secondary with an ultra wide lens, a third 5MP macro camera and finally a 2MP depth sensor. For selfies we find instead a 16MP sensor and focal aperture f / 2,48.
From the performance point of view, the smartphone adopts the recent Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G, or the same as the Note 9S, supported by a maximum of 6GB and 64GB or 128GB of internal memory (also expandable here).
To feed the whole thing there will always be a large 5020mAh battery, but this time with support for fast charging up to 33W, then an upgrade compared to the predecessor. Other features include a 3,5mm audio jack, infrared emitter, bluetooth 5.0 and NFC module.
Finally, let's go to see the prices of these two new devices. The Redmi Note 9 will have a starting price of $ 199 for the version with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory and $ 249 for the version with 4GB / 128GB. While the Redmi Note 9 Pro will be available starting from $ 269 in the version with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage and $ 299 for 6GB / 128GB.
Unfortunately, the configurations, prices, availability and sales channels for the Italian market will be announced in the coming weeks.
