Redmi Pad "change" processor: is it a yes or a no?

Let's go talk about the Redmi's first tablet, which we last discussed in early August. We got to see the first ones Redmi Pad official specificationsas well as the design via stolen shots. Analyzing the data available to us we can say that the tablet in question will come with a Qualcomm processor but new data reveal that there could be a Global variant with another SoC. To tell us are the highly trained colleagues of Miuipolska, which they shared with us the existence of a Redmi Pad based on MediaTek. Let's go see the details.

UPDATE: WE REALIZED THAT WE MADE A MISTAKE AS THE TABLET WILL BE ONLY ONE. MORE INFORMATION AT THE END OF THE ARTICLE

Redmi Pad could arrive in two variants: one with Qualcomm processor and one MediaTek. Here's everything we know about the first tablet of the Xiaomi sub-brand

According to the data we have, the codenamed Redmi Pad MT8781 (its commercial name is still unknown) is based on a 6 nanometer lithographic process. The processor is built by TSMC, just to have a little clearer ideas. In terms of performance, that will be enough similar to the Helio G99 recently released, which will most likely be the “heart” of the next one POCO M5. It has the same basic configuration: 2 x Cortex-A76 (max. clock speed 2.2 GHz) and 6 x Cortex-A55 (max. 2 GHz). The graphics chip that will help the processor is the Mali-G57 MC2, which is used across the range mid-range devices Xiaomi (like POCO M3 Pro 5G or Redmi Note 10 5G).

The RAM memory implemented in this processor on Redmi Pad will also be of type similar to that of the Helio G99, or LPDDR4X. As for the internal memory, still nothing certain: Xiaomi will be able to choose between eMMC 5.1 e UFS 2.2. However, since it is a mid-range tablet, it is quite plausible to think that there will be no UFS memory as it is more expensive and more performing.

We continue with the other information. The Redmi Pad called MT8781 supports a display with a maximum resolution of 1200 × 2000 pixels with an update rate of 90 Hz. Also, it will use Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) and Bluetooth 5.2. Obviously the new processor does not support the 5G network. Finally, we don't actually know if there will be two products or if the tablet with MediaTek SoC will "replace" the most talked about with Qualcomm processor. We'll see in the coming months.

SECURITY UPDATE TRAINING

As announced in the introduction, we communicate that the tablet will be one with only the MediaTek processor. Thanks to Kacper Skrzypek (MIUIPolska team) for reporting it to us.
