Xiaomi has just announced the imminent launch of the Redmi Pad Pro 5G. This device represents a significant upgrade over the previously launched Wi-Fi version, introducing the long-awaited 5G connectivity, which until now was missing in both the Chinese and global models.

With the official announcement made through Lei Jun's Twitter account, the 5G model is expected to reach the global market as well. Thanks to the use of Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor, already compatible with the 5G network, it is assumed that the new model will not differ much in terms of hardware from the Wi-Fi version.
The technical specifications of the Redmi Pad Pro are notable: the device is equipped with a 12,1-inch LCD display with 2.5K resolution (2560 × 1600 pixels) a 120Hz refresh rate and a touch sampling rate of 180Hz. The display reaches a maximum brightness of 600 nits and supports Dolby Vision, all protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
Under the hood, the Redmi Pad Pro 5G features a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor with a clock frequency of up to 2.4GHz, supported by an Adreno 710 GPU. The tablet offers options of 6GB or 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM e storage capacity of 128GB or 256GB UFS 2.2, expandable up to 1.5TB via microSD. The operating system is based on Android 14 with the HyperOS interface.
As for photography, the Redmi Pad Pro 5G is equipped with one 8MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera. It includes an in-display fingerprint sensor and an infrared sensor. The audio is guaranteed by four speakers with Dolby Atmos support, flanked by two microphones.
The tablet measures 280×181.85×7.52mm and weighs 571 grams. Connectivity options include optional 5G, Wi-Fi 6 (802.11 ac) on both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, Bluetooth 5.2, and USB Type-C 2.0. The device is powered by a 10,000mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging.
