Redmi Turbo 5: Specs leaked for the first Dimensity 8500 model

The well-known leaker Digital Chat Station has previewed the specifications of the next redmi Turbo 5, a device that promises to be one of the most interesting in the mid-range for the Chinese market. The new smartphone will be the first to debut with the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 processor, the most powerful in the Dimensity 8 series, and promises truly top-of-the-range performance.

Redmi Turbo 5: Specs leaked for the first Dimensity 8500 model

The REDMI Turbo 5 will feature a 6,5-inch flat LTPS display, ideal for everyday use and multimedia. The body will be surrounded by a metal frame, while protection against dust and water will be guaranteed by IP68 certification, a feature still rare in this price range.

The fingerprint sensor will be optical and integrated under the screen, confirming REDMI's attention to a clean and functional design.

One of the Turbo 5's strong points will be its 7.500mAh battery, an above-average capacity that promises extended battery life even with heavy use. It will feature 100W wired charging, a speed that dramatically reduces wait times and gets the device ready to use in just a few minutes.

The REDMI Turbo 5 will be the first smartphone to feature the new Dimensity 8500, built on TSMC's 4nm process. The chip maintains the all-big-core architecture with Arm Cortex-A725 cores and a Mali-G720 GPU, and has already achieved an AnTuTu score of 2 million, a sign of high performance.

This new SoC represents an evolution over the Dimensity 8400, which debuted with the REDMI Turbo 4. The 8400 already showed a 41% improvement in multi-core performance and a 44% reduction in power consumption, and the 8500 promises to go even further.

Besides REDMI, Honor, Vivo, and OMEGA will also adopt the Dimensity 8500 in their upcoming models, a sign that MediaTek is gaining ground in the premium segment as well.
