Xiaomi has just presented in China its new living room giant: the Redmi TV X 2026, an 86-inch smart TV that aims to offer high-end specs at an affordable price. It is the first Redmi model to feature a Mini LED panel, a technology that promises deeper blacks, high brightness, and superior contrast compared to traditional LEDs.

The display is the undisputed star: 86 inches, 4K resolution, 144Hz native refresh rate, and peak brightness of up to 1.200 nits. The panel integrates 640 local dimming zones and supports VRR (Variable Refresh Rate), making it ideal for both movie viewing and gaming. Thanks to the ambient light sensor, the TV can automatically adjust brightness and color temperature to adapt to the surrounding environment.
For movie buffs, there's Filmmaker Mode, which disables features like AI upscaling, noise reduction, and MEMC to provide faithful reproduction of the original content. For gaming, the TV supports a dedicated mode that boosts the refresh rate up to 288Hz, with a resolution limited to 2560×1440, perfect for competitive sessions on consoles or PC.
Under the hood, we find the MediaTek MT9655, a quad-core chip paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The operating system is HyperOS 3, with support for Dolby Vision Gaming, AMD FreeSync Premium, and a 4ms response time in gaming mode.
The launch price in China is 4.800 yuan, equivalent to around €640, a surprisingly low price considering its size and specifications. The Redmi TV X 2026 is intended as a direct successor to the Redmi TV X 2025 series, improving every technical and visual aspect.
With these features, Xiaomi aims to dominate the extra-large smart TV segment, offering an immersive viewing experience and top-of-the-range performance, without sacrificing the budget.
