The next-gen Google TV remote will have an eternal battery

Samsung was one of the first smart TV makers in the world to launch a remote control that was rechargeable by solar/light and even Wi-Fi. Now Google TV will follow suit to say goodbye to batteries. TW Electronics, which makes accessories for smart TVs and media players with Google TV, has unveiled the new design for standard control of TVs with this operating system.

The next generation Google TV remote will receive power without using an outlet and docking station

The next generation Google TV remote will have a built-in battery and an Exeger PV panel at the bottom of the case. According to the manufacturer, to replenish the charge, it will not have to be placed on the windowsill on a sunny day - it will receive enough illumination from the room to “refuel”. In fact, this new generation remote control should also recharge thanks to artificial light.

Samsung has previously announced self-recharging remote controls, and Amazon has already shared plans to create such a model for its Fire TV set-top box. It is not yet known which of the electronics manufacturers will be the first to equip their devices on Google TV with a TW Electronics remote control. Unfortunately TW Electronics has not released a timeline on when the new controls should be available and which brands will adopt this technology, but this seems to be a great choice to make the future more sustainable and economical for users.
