According to DxOMark's analysis, the new kings of photography are precisely the Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro, recently presented on the market and already best sellers, selling out in less than a minute after placing an order. But is it possible that at a price of about half the reference in the smartphone sector, namely Apple's iPhone 11, Xiaomi's devices have managed to dethrone it?
Well, someone has had the good fortune to put hand to Xiaomi's little technological beasts and compare their photographic performances in high quality, sharing their experience, demonstrating or rather confirming that Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro is superior in terms of photo / video yield compared to Mi 10 and in any case the two devices are a clear improvement over the Mi 9, which last year generated quite a few controversies precisely for the performance of the photographic sector.
Challenge at the last click: Xiaomi Mi 10 vs iPhone 11, comparison between the two kings of photography
Among the technical characteristics of Xiaomi Mi 10 we find the presence of a 108 megapixel primary sensor with seven-element lens, focal aperture f / 1.69 and OIS support, which is flanked by a second 13 megapixel ultra wide sensor, with focal aperture f /2.4 and 123 ° FOV. Finally, there are two additional 2 megapixel sensors with data collection function for bokeh and macro effect, both with f / 2.4 aperture.
But let's get to the flab of the article, or the comparison between iPhone 11 and Xiaomi Mi 10, thanks to a user who has made several shots with both smartphones. In particular, the user focused on night shots, thus comparing in real time the performance that both devices are able to pull out. Unfortunately, judging the photos taken with Xiaomi Mi 10 in most of the shots, the Chinese smartphone is inferior in terms of quality compared to the iPhone 11. Probably with the installation of a port of the Google Camera the results at night could improve, distorting the results and decreeing the Mi 10 superior to the iPhone 11.

At the moment we have as material only images taken at night and honestly I do not believe that this can actually decree a real winner, also because in my mere opinion, in the examples reported by the user even iPhone 11 has taken photos definitely not up to the price which the device is sold. Furthermore it should be considered that the performances of Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro are not given by the 108 megapixels as a dowry, but rather by the presence of the possibility of shooting in RAW and therefore obtain details that make the difference in the final rendering of the photo.
Also up to now we have talked about Mi 10 but the Pro variant further improves in the configuration that is composed in this way:
- Main sensor: 108MP, 1 / 1,33 inch equivalent 25mm sensor, aperture f / 1.69 lens, OIS (25MP output resolution)
- Short telephoto sensor: 12 MP, 1 / 2,6 inches with 2mm equivalent f / 50 aperture lens
- Long telephoto sensor: 8 MP, 1 / 4,4 inch sensor with 2mm f / 94 aperture, OIS
- Ultra wide angle sensor: 20 MP, 1 / 2,8 inches with an aperture of f / 2,2 equivalent to 16 mm
- Laser focus sensor

In the Pro version we lose the Macro lens, objectively a whim but not essential in terms of photographic quality. Pixel Binning technology is used to group multiple pixels in each photograph taken with the 108 MP lens, obtaining 27 MP images with superior quality thanks to the lens produced by Samsung. As we can see in the gallery of images above, obtained from the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro, the photographic wonder materializes both day and night. In short, the hype for this device is really sky high and despite the cancellation of the presentation event, set at the time for February 23, we are sure that Xiaomi in Europe will get a rain of success for its flagship that enters right into the camera phone category.
I have chosen and will always choose Xiaomi! For me they have been a guarantee for years!
So in your opinion I spend 6/700 x a phone and to take good pictures, do I still have to mount the gcam?
