In October, MediaTek and Qualcomm launched their new generations of flagship processors, the Dimensity 9400 and the Snapdragon 8 Elite. These new chips led to a significant reshuffle in the ranking of the most powerful smartphones of the month, with almost all of the top ten spots occupied by newly launched models.
MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400 uses an “all-big core” CPU architecture, comprising a 925GHz Cortex-X3.62 super core, three Cortex-X4 super cores, and four Cortex-A720 big cores. This chipset offers a 35% improvement in single-core performance and a 28% improvement in multi-core performance.
On the other hand, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite uses the Oryon architecture CPU. The main frequency of its two “super cores” is 4.32GHz, while the six “performance cores” work at 3.53GHz. Compared to the previous generation, both single-core and multi-core performance have improved by 45%.
Thanks to these new technologies, October saw a real storm in the Android performance landscape, with new processors dominating the charts.

- Various factors such as phone temperature, usage, and system version can affect benchmark results.
