Qualcomm introduced the "new" processor today Snapdragon 6s Gen 3, designed for entry-level smartphones, without any official announcement. The processor's specifications have been published on Qualcomm's website, revealing details about its features and capabilities. Along with these specifications, however, the most attentive have also noticed a problem: it is a processor that already exists!
Official Snapdragon 6s Gen 3: features and specifications
The Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 processor is made with a 6 nm and includes Kryo cores operating up to 2,3 GHz. Supports memories RAM LPDDR4X and storage drives UFS 2.2, ensuring efficient performance for low-end devices. Qualcomm also highlighted support for various technologies intelligence artificial, with particular attention to those related to the camera.
The Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 supports displays with Full HD + resolution and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, improving the visual quality and fluidity of images. As noted by the most attentive, however, it is a simple operation rebranding of the already well-known Snapdragon 695. The confirmation that it is actually a revival of the Snapdragon 695 5G is given by the fact that both processors share the same factory number (SM-6375). This clearly indicates that despite the new name, specifications and Chip capacities remain unchanged compared to the previous model.
