Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 caught on Geekbench: extraordinary performance on the way

Almost all mobile technology enthusiasts are waiting for the release of the next one Snapdragon 8 Gen4, scheduled for October this year. Rumors suggest that the Xiaomi 15 series will be the first to use Qualcomm's flagship SoC by 2025. Another exciting piece of news is the exceptional GPU performance this chip could offer.

Snapdragon 8 Gen4

Today the first have emerged Geekbench results for what appears to be a device with Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. Tests revealed impressive scores: 8.840 points in the multi-core scenario e 2.884 points in the single-core test. These results represent a nearly 30% jump in multi-core performance and a 35% increase in single-core performance compared to its predecessor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. For comparison, the Xiaomi 14 scored 6.810 points in the multi-core test and 2.125 points in the single-core test.

It's important to note that the performance gains from Qualcomm's chip could be even more significant, as early benchmark tests are often performed on pre-production samples that still need some optimizations.

One of the most interesting features of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is theNuvia CPU architecture, developed internally by Qualcomm. The CPU configuration is 2+6, with the main cluster of two cores hitting a clock speed of an impressive 4,09 GHz, while the more efficient cluster of six cores is clocked at 2,78 GHz. The GPU is the Adreno 830 and the entire chip is fabricated on TSMC's 3nm process.

These technical specifications indicate that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will not only offer a noticeable improvement in CPU performance, but also superior power efficiency. This is especially relevant for users looking for devices that can handle high-intensity applications and games without compromising battery life.

So Qualcomm's chip promises to be a real game changer in the world of SoCs for mobile devices. We just have to wait for further details and tests to see how it will behave in practice.
