The next-generation Snapdragon 830 chipset has been rumored a lot lately. One of the many rumors alleged that Samsung had entered into an agreement to produce the chips on behalf of Qualcomm. Although it is not known if this is actually the case, it is almost certain that the chip is in production, given that the model is present in a list of the Indian import / export site Zauba, with the initials MSM8998.
The listing shows that the chipset entered India several times from September 12 to October 6, with 80 units shipped from the US to the Asian country, ostensibly for testing purposes. It is well known that Zauba never releases many details about shipments, but the latest leak is generous enough to give us a general idea of the device on which Qualcomm's latest model is mounted. The prototype is equipped with 4Gb of LPDDR4 RAM and 64 Gb of ROM memory. According to rumors spread in recent weeks, the chipset should have very interesting specifications such as the 10 nm constructive process, LTE Cat. 16 support, Adreno 540 GPU and 8-core Kryo architecture. As we have reported , promising, the processor might not be called Snapdragon 830, but Snapdragon 835, and should be aboard the Samsung S8, expected for February 2017.
