Stop updates for Mi 5, Mi 4, Mi 4C, Mi 4S, RedMi Note 3 and Pro

Because we like it so much MIUI? Because it is constantly updated and evolving and obviously being built on Android, the personalization skills are enormous. Until today the MIUI has been updated for 395 weeks: together with the weekly updates they bring fixes to several micro-bugs and security patches, MIUI continues the optimization of the experience of each model, trying to bring a better experience to users. At the presentation of MIUI 10 it was said that some of the oldest devices would be updated, but also that some would have been excluded from this update; but now the list expands with the stop of updates for Mi 5, Mi 4, Mi 4C, Mi 4S, RedMi Note 3.

Thanks to a post on the MIUI China Forum we discover that Xiaomi will not release more updates for how much it only concerns the China ROM:

  • Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro and Redmi Note 3
  • Xiaomi Mi 5
  • Xiaomi Mi 4
  • Xiaomi Mi 4C
  • Xiaomi Mi 4S

The latest stable version for Mi 5 and Note 3 Pro will be MIUI 10.2. The latest stable version for Mi 4, Mi 4S and Mi 4C will be MIUI 10.1. Even the updates of MIUI China Beta have been suspended.

The latest beta for Mi 5 and Note 3 Pro will be 8.11.22 and 8.9.14 for Mi 4, Mi 4S and Mi 4C.

In January it will come MIUI 10.2 China Stable for all devices, which will turn out to be the last one ever. As said before this news concerns only the China ROM; as for the Global version, there is no news yet.

This version of the update presents some points that need attention, explains Xiaomi China:

1. After updating from the developer version to the stable version, the ROOT will be automatically deactivated. If you do not have the ROOT, ignore this point; if your favorite app requires ROOT, please consider updating if necessary.

2. The stable version is more stable than the development version and is also available the sounds of nature MIUI 10, 2.0 Portal and other features.

3. The previous data will not be deleted in the transition from the developer version to the stable version. However, be sure to back up important data on the Xiaomi cloud service or on your computer before upgrading to avoid unexpected events.

4. To update the system click on System Update and do the usual procedure to update, by downloading the package.
