Although we are talking about Xiaomi's ultra-fast charging with a power of 100W nicknamed "Super Charge Turbo" for over a year, the technology has not yet been made official by the Chinese brand. Today, a new leak, however, seems to confirm its imminent arrival.
120W certified charger, Xiaomi Super Charge Turbo 100W getting closer?
A charger with a maximum supported power of 120W has in fact been found on the Chinese site "National 3C Quality Certification Center", the body responsible for certifying all chargers for the Chinese market. This charger arrives with the model name Xiaomi MDY-12-ED and according to the certificate it would be produced by a factory outside Xiaomi called Huntkey.
As just mentioned, the charger has a maximum power of 120W, which can then work at different combinations of voltage and intensity of electric current. Specifically, we will have an output at 5V / 3 A, 9V / 3A, 11V / 6A and 20V / 4,8A if the input is 100-120V. While if we have a 200-240V input, the supported combinations will be: 5 V / 3 A, 9V / 3A, 11V / 6A and 20V / 6 A. The latter combination at 20V / 6A represents the maximum output power, i.e. 120W.
Previously, Xiaomi had said that 100W Super Charge Turbo technology would be presented later this year. So, although the charger has a power of 120W, the smartphone could still be limited via hardware and software to "only" 100W, which as you already know, is still something exceptional and that would make Xiaomi the world leader in charging technology rapid.
As for the usefulness of this recharge, video tests previously released by Xiaomi showed that it took only 17 minutes to recharge a battery with a capacity of 4000mAh (with a 100 W charger).
But on which device are we going to find the Super Charge Turbo? Well, recently there has been more and more talk about a new smartphone nicknamed "Super Large Cup". The terminal in question should actually be an even more premium version of the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro and in fact it should be called Mi 10 Pro +. Alternatively we could also find the new charging technology on the long-awaited Xiaomi Mi MIX 4
