When Xiaomi presented the top of the range My 8, no one would have imagined that other than that terminal would have followed others, with different names and specifications, creating confusion among the various users. Just for the record, the smartphone models that respond to the Mi 8 appeal are: of course Xiaomi Mi 8, Mi 8 SE, Mi 8 Explorer Edition, Mi 8 Lite, Mi 8 Pro. Well, if you have a model or the other, you will certainly be happy to know that the MIUI development team, has released a new firmware upgrade for these 5 models, which adds two super interesting features.
News that we know thanks to the arrival of Mi Mix 3, and that actually make up with the ability to shoot a video in Super SlowMotion to 960 frames per second and night mode, that should make the photos taken with low light more defined. The features just mentioned in reality have already been spotted a few weeks ago on the prince of the series, the Mi 8, but now all 5 models will enjoy the new features of the 3 Mi Mix, making it even more interesting to buy even the lower-end models like Mi 8 SE and Mi 8 Lite, the latter a real best buy.
SuperSlowMotion and Night Mode available for the whole Mi 8 series
We must however specify that at the moment the new upgrade is only available for Chinese-style ROMs and so we should still be patient for a few weeks (or maybe less) before even the Global ROMs receive these features. It is unclear whether Xiaomi has further modified, for example, the Super SlowMotion processing algorithm, as this suffered from a "ghost" effect on the subject framed, while the night mode allows to acquire 8 close shots with different exposure, which combined with artificial intelligence, would give life to a single shot of professional quality.
Personally I have not found great advantages in night conditions, if not a clear definition of neon writing and various luminaries, while they appreciate the potential in the sunset phase, but on the other hand at the prices to which the whole series is proposed, I would say that it is a more than acceptable compromise.
