That someone like it or not the new one iPhone X has brought a pinch of innovation to the current panorama of top range smartphones. In particular Apple for its iPhone X used the Face ID technology, starting the tests about three years ago, certainly interested in the security of the smartphone but that despite this in the presentation phase has been shown not yet perfect by making a clue just during the event.
Particularly Face ID allows the smartphone to unlock with face recognition, after careful 3D scanning of our face, though you should use your fingers to access the phone's function later.
Anyway, it seems that this technology liked the most, and so also Xiaomi, OPPO and other Chinese brands are working to put Face ID 3D technology on their new devices. Reducing the "bad shape" made during Apple's presentation, Chinese producers are trying to increase 3D ID Sensors, in such a way as to improve face-name security, such as those proposed by Largan Precision currently developing brand for 3D sensors used in cameras.
Of course, to support Face ID technology CPU compatibility is also required of Android smartphones, so Himax, Qualcomm and Truly Opto-electronics Ltd. They are working on CPU solutions with Face ID support, with production in series scheduled for March 2018. Even Huawei is not looking at it and so it looks like it is working with Sunny Optical Technology (Group) Company Ltd. to develop an 3D sensor solution to be included on its high end models.
We do not have dates but certainties it seems that Xiaomi will be the first to launch a smartphone equipped with Face ID technology, by virtue of the recent close collaboration with Qualcomm. It is also unclear whether Chinese brands in addition to Face ID will continue to adopt the classic fingerprint sensor as well. And what technology do you prefer?
