Some time ago we were surprised by the possibility of using our computer, both desktop and portable, as an extension of our smartphone with MIUI ROM, taking advantage of a function still under test that answered the name of Screen Combo, precisely a particular function developed by Xiaomi for MIUI through which it was possible to extend the screen and the functions of our smartphone directly on the PC, in short, a sort of Samsung Dex, just to make comparisons.
The functionality after various tests was released on MIUI 12 in China and the premises are really excellent, arriving at a desktop functionality that loyal users of the brand had been clamoring for.
Here's what awaits us with the future MIUI Desktop function
We are not sure of the name, but the definitive function should carry the name of MIUI Desktop or something like that, but going beyond the appellation with which we will call this feature, what we are allowed to do is view the applications we have installed on ours smartphone and use them from a computer. Furthermore, from this environment we can launch a series of apps at the same time, creating true multitasking, just like with PCs / laptops.
Similarly, MIUI Desktop will allow us to transfer files and documents quickly and easily from the smartphone to the PC and vice versa, simply by dragging the file to be shared from one window to another. How cool is it?
In addition to this, there will be a real interaction between smartphone and PC, for example by opening certain files on the smartphone directly with the applications installed on the PC, such as an excel table etc .. In fact, the animation below shows us MIUI. Desktop in operation, with the opening of a spreadsheet that the computer will open with the Excel software of the Microsoft Office suite and / or in any case with any software installed on the computer.
Definitely a mouth watering feature. At the moment, however, MIUI Desktop is only available on ROM China and for Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra smartphones, even if the test phase for the Mi 9, Mi 9 Pro and Redmi K20 Pro (Mi 9T Pro) devices has already begun, but the promises of Lei Jun's company are to bring this feature on all devices of the brand.
but what about call recording on xiaomi, do you know anything about how to enable it again ??
