As we know Xiaomi is always looking for better solutions for their smartphones, both at software level with the MIUI which is about to gradually release its eleventh release these days, both aesthetically, think of the Redmi K20 pop-up camera or to the beautiful Mi Mix Alpha. However, if these are all features that can easily be "inserted" into a smartphone, the same cannot be said for the same features on a folding device. It is not the first time that we talk about such a device: if you remember well at the beginning of the year we were among the first to show you a video of Lin Bin that sported a prototype, called by convention Mi Flex.
Lo folding screen however it has some contraindications and at the time we made abroad examination on what the weak points may be. However, the most interesting of all is the camera positioning: the folding display provided by Visionox, although it showed the app "Camera" in the lower right corner, did not present any type of rear or front sensor; we can also eliminate the fact that the Mi Flex was equipped with a pop-up sensor since the Redmi K20 is the first device to offer it. So where is this camera?

Well, it seems that finally Xiaomi has overcome this unpleasant obstacle and since the technology is making great strides, it has decided to opt for the holes on the screen: to say it now seems a rather obvious solution but it was not at the beginning of the year when this type of perforated display was still a fantasy. To show us how the brand has solved the problem is a patent discovered by the staff of TigerMobiles.com.
As regards the front photographic compartment, the brand opted for one triple room placed precisely at the center of the device, making sure not to take any curve of the screen and avoiding any kind of damage. Saying which sensors will be equipped is impossible at the moment, but we are certain that the Mi Flex, as well as the Mi Mix Alpha, it will not be a device for everyday use but a museum piece at least until the technology is really mature to allow us to use them.
For what concerns the rear photographic compartment, Xiaomi has come up with two solutions. If we watch the video we notice that on the back there is no free space for the sensors: with this patent instead the space has been created, probably lengthening the whole device or shortening the two "wings" that would be to close again. A second solution instead it is the one that provides two cameras in the upper corners: this way, however, is a bit awkward in that with the smartphone closed (but turned on) it would be impossible to take some shots.
In short, we can say that our beloved brand does not sit idle and, in spite of what can be said for software defects, all the constructive side thinks about it.
