La Tineco Floor One S5 is based on the previous dry / wet scrubber model Floor One S3 to which some substantial improvements have been made: larger clean and dirty water tanks and better edge cleaning. Design
The Tineco Floor One S5 is about the size of one electric broom standard and measures 110 x 27 x 25 cm. It weighs 4,5 kg when the water tanks are empty.
Comes out of the box ready to use, no assembly is required other than clicking the handle into place and setting the charging base. The dock has a rather large footprint, measuring 31 x 31 cm, a space to consider to always have it at hand. The accessories compartments (roller, brush and spare filter) are removable but do not take up additional space.
The tanks have been redesigned and repositioned for greater capacity. The clean water tank is 0,8 liters and is located on the back; The dirty water tank is 0,7 liters and is located on the front. Both are easy to remove, empty and refill. When the waste water tank is full, the appliance switches off and the voice assistant asks you to empty it. Likewise, when the clean water tank needs to be refilled, the voice assistant prompts you to do so, but it doesn't turn off automatically.
On the upper part of the main body of the vacuum cleaner, there is a great display which shows the battery percentage and whether you are cleaning in maximum or automatic mode. There are also a number of other symbols that light up to alert you to problems such as when you need to empty the waste water tank or when you need to run the self-cleaning program. A light ring around the edge of the screen changes color depending on the level of dirt detected. It is red when the robot detects a high level of dirt and turns blue when the floor is clean again.
The on / off switch is located on the comfortable handle and next to it is a button to switch from automatic mode to maximum mode, with the self-cleaning button on the top of the handle.
La maintenance is very easy: just lift the lid at the top and unhook the lateral attachment of the roller which is magnetic. In the package there is included a spare roller so you can alternate them when you want to wash the one in use. It also comes with a brush for cleaning the short length of hose between the roller and the dirty water tank, but is useful for cleaning the tanks as well. Included in the package is a replacement filter as well as a package of cleaning solution.
The Tineco Floor One S5 si tilts up to 142 ° allowing us to get under most of the furniture, like an electric broom. However, it is not possible to get very far and in this the practicality of the mop or rag always wins.
Performance
The water tank is easy to fill and since only one cap of cleaning liquid is needed, the 500ml one supplied in the package it will last for several cleanings. The vacuum cleaner always starts in automatic mode, even if the max mode was used the last time. The low weight makes it really manageable even in tight curves, moreover the roller has a towing effect that lightens its thrust.
The new, more capacious tanks are felt, in the automatic mode that manages the flows optimally, I was able to wash for 15 minutes without interruption. The maximum mode is definitely more expensive and I had half the performance.
In general auto mode makes the most sense to better manage water and autonomy, but absolutely does not affect general cleaning which is still effective thanks to the iLoop sensor that recognizes dirt in a timely manner and adapts the power / flow only if necessary. The display shows a ring that progressively changes from blue to red to signal the greater intensity of cleaning. In addition, in automatic mode the floor remains wet "just right" and dries very quickly.
On the daily dirt of the tiles, the Tineco Floor One S5 performs very well and manages to remove them with a single stroke. Even in the case of large quantities of liquid (eg wine or coffee), but also thick substances such as barbeque sauce, it behaved very well by removing everything the first shot. Only on the old dirt was it necessary to go over to soften the stain before being able to clean it.
Once back on the charging base, it scans the dirt level on the brush roller and will ask you to run automatic cleaning, if necessary. Cleaning takes about two minutes and is a fully automatic process, you just have to wait for it to finish and then empty the dirty water tank. In the tests carried out, even the abundant barbecue sauce was washed completely, making the roller as good as new.
The base obviously also takes care of recharging which takes about 4 hours to reach 100%, therefore even less than the 4/5 hours suggested by the house. With a full charge it is possible to reach 35 minutes of autonomy in automatic mode, a value that can therefore vary according to the amount of dirt it encounters. In Max mode I did not exceed 27 minutes, which is still a considerable value.
Also considering the large tanks, we can face even an extended washing session, without having to worry about being interrupted.

Tineco makes available its great app also for this product, even if the added value is very limited.
The functions for which the app is strictly necessary are, the firmware update and the choice of language / volume of voice feedback.

Tineco Floor One S5 - Conclusions and Price
Tineco Floor One S5 is undoubtedly a high-end product, the result of a lot of experience gained by the company. The evolution compared to the previous model, already excellent, is admirable and tangible. Everything is well thought out and organized: the tanks are larger and easier to disassemble; the new brush also cleans very well at the edges of the wall and is very easy to remove.
In general, every function, including self-cleaning, is at a high level and largely justifies the price of about 519 € on Amazon
Perhaps the only discrepancy is the lack of the drying / suction function which is instead present in the Tineco Floor One S5 Pro together with a more advanced display, but for which you have to pay an additional 100 €.
