In a teaser posted on its social networks this Friday morning, Redmi confirmed that it should launch its first Smart TV using the Amazon's Fire OS operating system. The novelty will be presented in India on March 14, and the event will be broadcast to the local public through social networks. According to Redmi, the TV will have a 32 "panel and should use Fire OS 7. Unlike other smart TVs from the brand, Google's Android TV will not be present on the device and the use of Fire OS should facilitate integration with Amazon's smart devices.

The Chinese brand promises that the new remote will have a shortcut for Alexa, along with Prime Video, Netflix and Amazon Music buttons. The new Redmi smart TV will have a display with minimal edges and its premium construction will be in metal. Furthermore, the manufacturer promises immersive sound with two speakers for a better audio experience. Finally, Redmi claims that the TV will be sold in a ecological packaging which can be cut to become a decorative element.
The TV in question will only be launched in India at the moment.
What is FireOS?
Fire OS is an operating system based on Android, developed and used exclusively by Amazon for its devices, like the Kindle Fire tablet and the Echo Show. It was created to provide a customized and optimized platform for Amazon products, offering specific user experience for Amazon services such as Amazon Prime Video, Amazon Music and Kindle Store. This means that Fire OS has one strong integration with Amazon services and offers quick access to content such as books, movies, music and applications.
In terms of functionality, it has many of the same features as Android, such as the ability to download applications from the Google Play Store and access to features such as voice control through Alexa. However, there are also some important differences between Fire OS and Android, such as the custom user interface and limited integration with Google services.
