Twitter will have its own virtual currency, but it won't be a crypto

Twitter users immediately noticed two unannounced news that could soon be launched on the social network. Both are linked to the opportunity to make money from publications by receiving "gifts" from their subscribers. One of these innovations, the most important in our opinion, is the virtual currency of Twitter. Let's see what it is.

Unannounced news, the virtual currency of Twitter. It has appeared without warning and someone is already complaining. Here's what it is

Judging by the posted screenshots, the first function received the working name Twitter Coin. It extends the "Tipping" functionality already present on the platform and allows you to support users who publish great content. In the images you can see the logo of the internal currency of the social network, the "purse" and the menu for buying coins. A virtual currency of Twitter therefore, which is not (we emphasize) a cryptocurrency.

There is still no precise information on the feature that gives rewards to editors. Presumably it will be used to buy internal gifts with Twitter Coin. It is not reported if they will make a profit or promote posts in the feed. Elon Musk has previously said that the company is developing some sort of "monetization" feature for authors of all forms of content. Officially, Twitter's management hasn't announced the innovation yet, but it will certainly do so in the near future.
