The future of wearables now also passes through this type of product, ideal for those who cannot stand watches on their wrist or for those who love to wear classic watches, in any case this Ring Air offers wellness monitoring capabilities that, we anticipate, have positively impressed us. First of all, it should be noted that a smart ring, compared to a smartwatch, does not allow for an adjustment that is instead allowed with a watch strap, so you need to pay close attention to the purchase as it will be more difficult to resell the item or give it to third parties. And precisely with a view to having a better fit and correct size of the ring, you can proceed in 3 different ways: the first is to use free applications that offer the possibility of obtaining the correct size of the ring, using a ring you already own. These solutions are economical but not always precise.
Alternatively, you can proceed with purchasing the Ultrahuman size kit, directly on Amazon with Prime shipping. This solution will cost you from 10 to 15 euros but will allow you to calmly evaluate the purchase of the ring and the correct size. In fact, inside you will find a series of rings of different sizes that are a faithful copy of the Ring Air, so that you can wear the ring for several days and understand its comfort and if the chosen size is the correct one based on the use you make of it and the finger chosen to host the Ring Air. Let's take a closer look at the Ultrahuman Ring AIR, a smart ring made of titanium reinforced with tungsten carbide, which allows it to be robust and lightweight and resist wear over time, while inside we have a transparent hypoallergenic plastic material, specifically epoxy resin. The external finish can be chosen between five different glossy and matte colors: gold, black and silver, or in the matte black finish that we tried. I have always kept the ring on my finger without sparing myself from carrying out maneuvers that have really mistreated the wearable, doing jobs around the house and in contact with water, yet at sight there are no particular scratches or dents even though I must admit it does not appear as new as the first day. Probably a glossy finish could suffer more from daily scratches.
Another small warning is due to the fact that the various sensors integrated into the body of the ring tend to heat up slightly during the day, but be careful, this does not mean that it is annoying, but if you suffer from dry skin, the advice is to use a moisturizing cream. Apart from this, the Ring Air is light and comfortable to use in everyday life, resulting in all respects a classic ring. Dimensions and weight depend on the actual size chosen, but on average we are talking about about 3 grams of weight for a thickness of 2,6 mm that reach 3,8 mm in the thickest part, where we find a protrusion containing the heart rate sensor.
I anticipated before that the Ultrahuman ring has an IPX8 certification that allows it to be immersed up to 100 meters for 12 hours and therefore used safely in the shower or simply when washing your hands. In terms of comfort even during the night hours the ring is not annoying, indeed I reiterate the fact that it is definitely more comfortable than a bulky smartwatch and I anticipate that it is also more precise in tracking sleep. Speaking of sensors, it seems like a miracle that Ultrahuman has managed to insert a series of sensors and battery in such a small surface: we find the heart rate sensor, the blood oxygenation sensor (SpO2) and also the one that measures skin temperature. Obviously there is Bluetooth for connecting to the smartphone while Wi-Fi and NFC for payments are absent but also a small motor for vibration. In fact, the Ring Air does not perform the notification function and this in my opinion is a plus, allowing you to detox from often useless notifications, if I want to be on the ball I can always consult the smartphone, which let's face it is always with us even in the bathroom.
It is also fair to point out that the smart ring does not have a display and therefore any interaction will have to be done via the free smartphone application, available for both Android and iOS systems. Let's get to the "meat" of the review and therefore discover what measurements are taken by the Ultrahuman Ring Air and with what quality they are performed. The association of the ring to the device, tablet or smartphone, for the first time must take place with the ring inserted in its charging dock, of which I appreciated the fact that the power cable is not proprietary but a Type-C cable detached from the charging dock and therefore easily replaceable. The micro battery inside allows for autonomy from 4 to 6 days while it takes about an hour and a half to a maximum of two for a full charge. Once the association is done, the application welcomes us with a series of summary data of our day, with weekly and monthly views. The application is in Italian and also optimized for tablets and provides constant stimuli to improve one's state of health.
We find information related to the movement performed, such as steps, minutes of activity, active hours, calories, training frequency etc.. but we also have a card related to stress that takes into account not only the value of "pure" stress but also if we are stimulated perhaps because of activity. The dynamic recovery section is interesting, a sort of general state that takes into account many values, such as resting heart rate, HRV value, stress but also skin temperature and sleep. The sleep tracking of this item is super reliable, so much so that the application also provides the value of how many times you turned in your sleep and how much time was spent for the heart rate to drop. Obviously the various phases of sleep are recognized and there are graphs that show how the heartbeat varies, the variation of the heartbeat and the skin temperature (which can be an indication of the onset of problems). We also have the possibility of using, in beta function, the training tracking which in the case of outdoor activities will use the smartphone's GPS to provide the path of the route taken.
Among the goodies available we find the possibility of activating plugins to reach objectives, such as vitamin D, or caffeine intake, or when it is recommended and not recommended to take stimulants such as coffee, tea or sugary drinks. This way you will have a clearer idea of the effect that the intake of these stimulants can have on your sleep and therefore on your energy. These extra functions are all free except for two that are paid such as the atrial fibrillation check, but there are also extra functions coming soon such as the awaited Cycle, and Ovulation Tracking, This free PowerPlug will offer two objectives: cycle tracking and accurate prediction of your ovulation with Ring AIR (no additional apps or subscriptions are required, unlike other options on the market). So Ring Air is definitely a wearable suitable for everyone, both males and females.

All the measurements were very precise with clear information on what was tracked all accompanied by notifications with more useful information on which values to pay attention to and what can be done to try to improve them.
