Unboxing of the Xiaomi Mi Mix
Mi Mix is certainly the device that surprised the most among those presented during the Xiaomi event two days ago, especially because no one expected the announcement of a second smartphone in addition to Mi Note 2. Mi Mix mainly strikes for its design innovative almost frameless and for the ceramic body.
Mi Mix is a 6.4 ″ phablet with 2040 x 1080 resolution. The innovative design allows the display, developed by Sharp, to cover 91.3% of the device. Even the Home button is placed below it.
On the back we find the rear camera, equipped with the 16880 Mpx OV16 sensor developed by OmniVision. Below it is the fingerprint sensor. The circular edges of the camera and sensor are decorated with an 18-karat gold finish. The ceramic back is certainly a feature appreciated by design lovers, but it will drastically slow down the mass production of the device. The Mi Mix uses a tenon and mortise joint to hold the screen and chassis together.
At the time of unboxing we find the smartphone housed in a black container, together with the protective plastic case, the charger and the small tool used to remove the SIM card.
The box shows some of the specifications of the device, such as 6Gb of RAM and 256Gb of ROM in the case of the 18K version.
At the bottom of the smartphone we find the two speaker grids and the USB port, used for charging the battery and for data transfer. Xiaomi has decided not to give up the 3.5 mm jack, which is located on the opposite side of the device.
Mi Note 2 is compatible with the new Xiaomi VR and guarantees long and exciting gaming sessions thanks to the Snapdragon 821 processor and the 4000 mAh battery. The price of the smartphone is relatively low: the 18K version with 6 Gb of RAM and 256 Gb of ROM is available for around 540 euros, while the basic version with 128 Gb and 4 Gb of RAM is on sale for around 475 euros. Due to the limited production, getting your hands on the device may not be that easy though.
