Guys, I've been trying for a couple of days for this extraordinary smartphone, the MEIZU MX4.
As mentioned on various sites and also reported here in Smartylife.net, the distributed version on the Asian market of MX4 he does not have the Google Apps preinstalled. How to do?
First of all I want to premise that I was really impressed with the display, the audio quality and the battery optimization. But what left me a bit perplexed was the MEIZU policy of releasing this smartphone with 4 different OS versions.
- Flyme 4.0.2U - China Unicom OS version (App installed in Chinese - Google Play services not available)
- Flyme 4.0.2C - China Mobile OS version (App installed in Chinese - Google Play services not present.)
- Flyme 4.0.2A - OS Global version (Google Play services are not pre-installed).
- Flyme 4.0.2I - OS International version (pre-installed Google Play services).
Now, we have to create different firmware for the various BRANDs, we are used to it. Samsung & co. has always developed practically a firmware for each operator but what we cannot understand is why to equip versions 4.0.2U, C, A with bootloader blocked unable to load version "I" (with google services installed).
Are business policies to avoid, how did OnePlus One come up with having Asian Import Smartphones where the market should be served by the MEIZU European division? Or will it be for the aversion that China has for Google in the awkward attempt to prevent those who buy the phone in Chinese territory from having preinstalled Google Services? You do not know ... it could be an interesting debate.
Said this, since there are no HW differences between the various models we just have to trust in the various modders. They have the task of preparing some nice custom ROMs with Google Services included and, perhaps, a few less bugs, 100% compatible with all terminals on the market today.
But who bought his MEIZU MX4 from China? How do you do it? How do I get my Google services on my nice MX4?

Upgrading the Meizu MX4 was the simplest upgrade experience ever. And, used to the MIUI Updater, it's all to say.
Friday night I got the MEIZU MX4 with 4.0.2U firmware, then the China Unicom branded one and since I've always been a bit allergic to branded phones, the first thing I did was to download the latest 4.0.2A ROM (Global) and install it.
How do you do it? Arm yourself with holy patience and follow these grueling 2 passages:
- download the ROM on the PC and transfer it via USB to MX4 (link Mega)
- Open the "Document" APP, look for the update.zip file that you put on the phone and tap it over.
Difficult eh? 
We've debranded our MX4. And Google Apps? Here's what's tough:
- download this apk file on the phone (link Mega)
- Install this file (always with the "Document" app)
- Launch the app and tabbate on "Install"
The phone will restart and you will have the Play Store ready for use with all active Google Syncs.
What to say, waiting for a good modder who tries to customize a bit 'ours Meizu MX4 we can still enjoy it fully thanks to the Italian language already present on the system and the google play that opens the phone to the world of App.
