We have seen many alternative systems to the native infotainment of your car or simply your car does not have one here on the blog but often the solutions offered are cumbersome for the driving view and so what if we want a large display that does not take up all the space of the dashboard and that does not get in the way? A solution comes from the Urvolax UR73C multimedia system, which boasts a beautiful and large display that extends horizontally, thus leaving the driving view free but above all able to offer convenient entertainment for you and your passenger. Let's discover all the potential of the Urvolax UR73C in detail in this review.

Packaging
The package is minimal, in the sense that we do not find additional gadgets such as a rear camera or dash cam, but only the power cable with cigarette lighter socket connection and USB-C end, an AUX-AUX cable for connecting external devices such as old MP3 players or for connecting the infotainment system to the car speakers, a cloth for cleaning the display and finally some plastic films to protect the display from small scratches. I would like to point out, however, that the cigarette lighter power supply does not offer additional USB ports for charging smartphones.
Compared to other similar products, the Urvolax UR73C does not use mounting brackets but natively integrates a silicone base with adhesive attachment, which can be directed also allowing the rotation of the display 360°, useful if we want to direct the screen towards the passenger for example to entertain him by watching a film. Once the most suitable position has been chosen, a lever can be used to stop the mechanism, which has proven to be stable despite the considerable weight of the infotainment system.
I would like to point out, in case you haven't figured it out yet, that this is not a 1 DIN or 2 DIN car radio to replace the standard car radio, but since it is fixed to the dashboard, it can be made to coexist, in the passenger compartment, with the standard car radio of your car. This is why it is suitable for all cars, including those not compatible with the 1 DIN and 2 DIN standards.
Design and display
The design of Urvolax UR73C is simple and minimal, but at the same time modern. It features a display with thin bezels, which looks good in any car wherever it is placed. On the back of the product, in the upper part of the "neck" we find the slot for inserting a micro SD memory card with support for up to 512 GB, useful for storing recordings made with a dash cam or rear camera or for reading videos and music directly from the system without using the Android Auto or CarPlay function.
At the bottom we find the USB-A input for reading USB sticks, AUX input, hole for resetting the product, AV-IN input for rear camera or dash cam and finally Type-C power input. On the upper profile of the display is the On/Off button to completely turn off the system if held down for a few seconds or to deactivate the display if simply pressed while on the upper frame of the display we find a double microphone for managing calls and/or for giving voice commands, such as asking the weather etc..
Let's talk about the screen now, a solution that I particularly appreciated for several reasons. First of all, it is large, with a diagonal of 10.26 inches, making it practically a small rectangular tablet with a resolution of HD 1600×600, with visibility even at close range. The anti-glare treatment was good and the lighting is excellent in all ambient light conditions, although we should act on the value ourselves as there is no dedicated sensor but we have the possibility of programming a specific lighting for example for night hours.
Considering that this is a screen useful for navigation but also for entertainment, since when the car is stationary you can watch videos and play games, it is very interesting that the viewing angles are excellent even at strong inclinations but above all that the touch screen is responsive and fluid as well as ensuring good color fidelity.
Functionality and performance
It boots up in 6 seconds, featuring a minimalist and distraction-free interface that improves usability without unnecessary complexity. As mentioned, thanks to the presence of a USB port, Urvolax UR73C can play music from USB sticks, as well as micro SD cards but also movies or TV series. There are 4 audio outputs available: it can play music via Bluetooth from your phone and also has built-in speakers, but it can also connect to your car speakers via radio frequencies by tuning it to an unused FM station or via audio jack using a cable with double 3,5 mm output.
The device can also be used to mirror the smartphone display. Through the Android Auto or CarPlay interface we can of course navigate using apps like Google Maps, Maps or Waze, manage music from platforms like Spotify, make hands-free calls, send messages and much more. The interface is very intuitive, with a Home screen made up of various widgets and a settings menu with large and well-spaced icons. Thanks to a good level of hardware, I found good reactivity, always responding quite well to commands. And the installation is very easy, doable by everyone.
It works via Wi-Fi and not via Bluetooth, a bit like casting on Android TV and Google Nest devices. And these solutions are constantly updated thanks to Google and Apple, so they do not require changing the infotainment system every few years.

Price and conclusions
For all that it offers, Urvolax UR73C has a fairly reasonable price even though it is not among the cheapest on the market. You can find it on Amazon with Prime shipping and guarantee at a price of 199,90 euros, to which you will have to add the cost of any accessories, such as a dashcam or rear camera. Apart from that, this device will not really make you miss anything or at least it does not lack the features that we must have on a gadget of this type. In addition, it is universal and easy to install, so you will not have to disassemble the standard system of your car nor will you have to worry about compatibility: all you need is a cigarette lighter socket and you will know that it is compatible.
If we want to find a flaw, or rather a limitation, it is that it is not easily removable: once the base is attached, the display does not detach from the support but is one with it. For me it is not a problem, because I would not remove it anyway, but for those who want to use it on multiple cars or leave the car outside at night, it may not be liked. There is also an advantage of course, because since the screen is integral with the support, it swings much less than others. I highly recommend this product to anyone who wants to improve the technological capabilities of their vehicle, without intrusive interventions and with excellent quality!
