Vivo S12 and S12 Pro official: 50MP selfie cam and dual dual tone front flash starting from 2799 yuan (390 €)

In terms of design, the new generation continues with the fashionable style typical of the “S” series, with a thin and light design. At the same time, it also brings a brand new color scheme. In particular there are a total of three colors: warm gold, island blue and bright black. On the back, however, we have a rectangular-shaped camera module with a total of three lenses in order of size, from the largest to the smallest.

Going to the front of the Vivo S12, here we find a 6,44-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2400 × 1080, supports a refresh rate of 90/60 Hz, a touch sample rate of 180 Hz and a brightness of the screen (typical value) of 430 nits.

In terms of performance, the device is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 1100 processor, built with a 6nm manufacturing process, with four Big Core Cortex A78 at 2.6GHz and four little Cortex A55 at 2.0GHz. At the same time, the performance of the processor's GPU, the Mali G77, has also been significantly improved over the previous generation.

As the flagship of the new generation of selfie phones, the Vivo S12 is equipped with a 44MP ultra-clear AF main camera, along with an 8MP wide-angle lens and four front two-color soft lights, thus providing users with a uniform and three-dimensional fill light effect on the face in a dark night environment. At the same time, it supports adjusting the color temperature according to your preferences, thus bringing the freedom to take selfies in any situation, even at night.

Moving on to the rear cameras of the S12, we have a 108MP main camera with a focal aperture of f / 1,88 that supports 9 in 1 pixel binning technology, the equivalent pixel size is 2,1 μm. The others are an 8MP wide-angle lens with a 120 ° FOV and a 2MP lens for taking macro photos.

It is worth mentioning that the Vivo S12 is equipped with skin rejuvenation and shaping technology at the micron level, “Smart skin” can be applied thanks to artificial intelligence, obtaining an effect comparable to the work of commercial level retouchers.

With the built-in Smart Skin function, you can adjust your skin tone in three dimensions, blur everything else, add a sunset light style, a super night scene and other functions to meet the needs of all users.

According to the brand, compared to conventional microdermabrasion, the Smart skin function is 20% better for selfies and 30% better for rear cameras.

Additionally, the Vivo S12 has added features such as Vlog for dual scene recording and auto blur functions. One-click shooting supports video transitions, special effects, filters, music, and some movie shooting techniques.

For the rest, the smartphone has a built-in 4200 mAh battery, supports 44 W flash charging and runs on the OriginOS Ocean system based on Android 11.

The Vivo S12 will be available for presale on December 22nd and will be officially sold on December 30th. The 8GB + 256GB version costs 2799 yuan (€ 390) and the 12GB + 256GB version is 2999 yuan (€ 415).

Moving on to the Vivo S12 Pro, the device uses a 6,56-inch AMOLED screen with a 90Hz refresh rate, features a Dimensity 1200 chip, 50MP (instead of 44MP) dual front cameras and 8MP ultra-wide. There is a 108MP rear main camera, an 8MP ultra wide one and a 2MP macro camera. Finally, the battery is 4300mAh and supports 44W flash charging.
