With the approaching more and more of the next Xiaomi 12 which according to several leaks will arrive next month, new rumors continue to leak almost daily. Today's one comes from the well-known Chinese blogger Digital Chat Station, who has just revealed that the Mi 12 will be equipped with a 50MP camera instead of 100MP.
Goodbye 108MP camera, the Xiaomi 12 will have a custom 50MP sensor
As we know, all the latest Xiaomi flagships such as the Xiaomi Mi 10, Mi 10 Pro and Mi 11 have been equipped with over 100MP main cameras. In particular, they all use the Samsung ISOCELL Bright HMX sensor series with a resolution of 108MP, a sensor size of 1 / 1,33 inches, and support OIS optical image stabilization.
According to today's leak, however, Xiaomi's upcoming Mi 12 series will abandon the 100MP and instead will use a 50MP sensor for the main camera, a sensor developed specifically for this device. Of course, the camera should also support OIS optical image stabilization.
Also, the sensor should be 1 / 1,3-inch in size, which is larger than average. This means that we will have excellent performance even in low light conditions.
In addition to the new camera, the Xiaomi 12 will be equipped with Qualcomm's next-generation flagship processor. We also point out that according to various sources, Qualcomm's next flagship chip will not be called Snapdragon 898 or Snapdragon 895, but will have a new name with consequent new rules for naming, but the specific details are currently unknown.
The only fact we know about the chip is that it is based on Samsung's 4nm manufacturing process. The super-large core is the Cortex X2 and the CPU frequency has surpassed 3.0GHz. All this should allow the chip to pass the million-point mark on the famous AnTuTu benchmarking platform.
