According to the latest rumors from China, it is now certain that the Xiaomi 12 will officially debut next month. This may not be the world's first smartphone with the new Snapdragon flagship chip, but it will still be one of the first next-generation devices to see the light of day.
Xiaomi 12 mini coming with Snapdragon 870 and curved screen
Well, apparently the Xiaomi 12 will not be alone. In fact, we would be close to the release of another smartphone with one of the most popular chips of this year on board, the Snapdragon 870, which should also be part of the Mi 12 series. Unlike the new flagship, however, the device with Snapdragon 870 it will be small in size and will most likely come under the name of Xiaomi 12 mini.
The news comes from the well-known Chinese blogger Digital Chat Station who on Weibo (the Chinese Twitter) declared “The version with Snapdragon 870 has practically been finalized and is ready to launch. If you don't need maximum performance, it will be more than excellent ”.
The same blogger also revealed in the comments that this new device with Snapdragon 870 will have a curved screen design and will therefore most likely be similar to the standard version of the upcoming Xiaomi 12. This means that apart from the less performing chipset, the Xiaomi 12 mini will have a very premium design but small in size.
Recall that, according to previous leaks, the Mi 12 mini will be equipped with a screen of about 6,3 inches with Full HD + resolution. Although the screen size is not very “mini” on paper, thanks to the thinner edges and the curved screen, the overall size should be reduced. It could therefore become the true successor of the much loved Xiaomi Mi 9 SE.
Finally, confirming its arrival, the smartphone has already obtained 3C certification in China, with data showing that it has model number “2112123AC”, supports the 5G network and is equipped with a wired fast charge up to 67W.
