Xiaomi 12, 12 Pro and 12X official in China: specifications and prices

As scheduled, Xiaomi has just presented the new Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro flagships, together with the mid-range Xiaomi 12X; let's go find out more!

Xiaomi 12, 12 Pro and 12X official in China: specifications and prices

Let's start with the two flagships that have the size that differentiates them more than any other feature. The Xiaomi 12 is in fact equipped with a 6,28 inch AMOLED screen with Full HD + resolution and 120Hz refresh rate produced by the Chinese Huaxing Electronics, while the Xiaomi 12 Pro integrates a 6,73 inch panel with 2K resolution and E5 technology manufactured by Samsung. So the Pro version has a bigger screen but also with higher resolution and better quality.

As for photography, we have the Xiaomi 12 with a 50MP main camera, Sony IMX766 image sensor (with OIS), a 13MP ultra wide camera and a telephoto / macro sensor. The front camera has a resolution of 32MP.

The Xiaomi 12 Pro instead arrives with a main camera always from 50MP but with Sony IMX707 image sensor (with OIS). We point out that this is the first device with this sensor, which therefore makes its world debut. This is then accompanied by an ultra wide angle camera and a 50MP telephoto lens.

Xiaomi also brings improvements in the audio field, equipping the Xiaomi 12 Pro with a double four-unit speaker system. The basic model continues with the double symmetrical speaker.

As for performance, both devices arrive with the new and performing Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen1. While to power them there is a 4500mAh battery for the Xiaomi 12 and 4600mAh for the Pro version.

Finally, from the point of view of charging, the Xiaomi 12 is able to support a 67W wired charging, together with a remarkable 50W wireless charging. The Pro variant almost doubles the cable power to 120W, while wireless charging remains at 50W. Both devices support the new wireless car charger, the Xiaomi Mi Wireless Car Charger Pro, presented yesterday.

As for the Xiaomi 12X, the smartphone is identical to the basic Xiaomi 12 in size, but sees downgrades in the specifications.

The processor is now a mid-to-high-end Qualcomm Snapdragon 870, 50W wireless charging is removed and optical image stabilization is missing.

As for the operating system, all three devices arrive with the new MIUI. According to official data, compared to the MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition, the MIUI 13 has a 15% reduction in the cumulative frame drop duration on flagship phones and a 52% drop in entry-level phones.

The cumulative frame drop duration of the flagship models decreased by 23%, while in the mid-range models it decreased by 26%. The brand promises that with continuous use for 36 months, the degradation of read and write performance is less than 5%.

In terms of privacy, MIUI 13 has three new privacy protection features: face verification protection, watermarking and electronic fraud protection. Face verification can block other images except system-wide faces; privacy watermark can protect identifying photos; and there is built-in electronic fraud protection
