A couple of days ago, Xiaomi officially announced that it had caught up a strategic cooperation with Leica and that the first smartphone to see the light of day from this collaboration will be launched in July. Knowing how the brand plans its devices, it is almost certain that this smartphone arriving in July is the next Xiaomi 12 Ultra.
Xiaomi 12 Ultra coming with ultra fast charging and large battery
Well, today the well-known Chinese leakster Digital Chat Station has revealed what the battery and fast charging specifications of the Xiaomi 12 Ultra should be. In particular, it shows us that the smartphone will be equipped with a large 4860mah battery, 120w cable charging and 50w wireless charging.
The 12 Ultra will also be the model with the highest charging specification among the models that have been confirmed by Xiaomi this year. Furthermore, 120W charging along with a battery close to 5000mAh means that there is a high probability that it will be a single-cell fast charge supported by the Surge P1 chip.
The Surge P1 is basically the most powerful self-developed chip in Xiaomi's history. This has brought a huge technological breakthrough in the fast charging industry and has resolved several important contradictions of fast charging: fast charging leads to reduced battery capacity and increasing battery capacity leads to greater thickness.
With the Surge P1 chip, on the other hand, it is possible to achieve fast charging of 100 W through a single cell solution, unique in the sector. According to the previous introduction by Xiaomi vice president Lu Weibing, the research and development of the Surge P1 chip took 18 months and the four main research and development centers worked together, costing more than 100 million yuan (nearly 14 million of Euro).
It is worth mentioning that the chip can also support wired charging technology of up to 200W and can fully charge a 4000mAh battery in just 8 minutes.
