In the last few hours we have learned that the next super flagship of the Xiaomi 12 series, or the 12 Ultra, could be released in June. The device will be enhanced in terms of performance and photography, reaching the pinnacle of technology for Android smartphones.
Prototype of the Xiaomi 12 Ultra caught in a Chinese market: will it really be like this?
Also today, a well-known blogger published on Weibo (the Chinese Twitter) what should be a live photo of an engineering prototype of the Xiaomi 12 Ultra found in a second-hand market. Not only does the photo show us what the new device looks like, but it also reveals information regarding the photographic sector of the same.
But let's start with the design, which as you can see is very similar to the previous renders seen online in recent months. In particular, we see that the rear adopts a large module for circular and centered cameras. Inside we find a total of four cameras, one of which supports a 120x zoom thanks to its periscope telephoto lens and an additional camera always with a periscope lens, probably with 2x zoom.
In the lower left corner of the camera module, there is also a very eye-catching Leica logo, which confirms the much talked about collaboration between the Chinese smartphone manufacturer and the well-known German camera and lens company.
It is worth noting that, perhaps due to the lack of other identical prototypes, the seller has released two different smartphones with different designs, we see that the second has only three cameras and not four.
In any case, it is difficult to say whether this will truly be the final design of Xiaomi's next super flagship, but the smartphone will likely have a very similar design to what we see in these two prototypes. We are mainly referring to the appearance of the rear camera module, which has been circulating online for several months.
