This afternoon, the Chinese technology giant released a statement officially announcing that the launch of the new Xiaomi 13 series has been postponed.

The new release date has not been announced for the moment and will be communicated as soon as it is confirmed.
Previously, it was revealed that due to factors such as cost updates and exchange rate fluctuations, the price of the Mi 13 series is expected to significantly increase by 15%-20%, and the price of the Mi 13 will be around 4500 yuan (610 euros) in China.
As for the specifications, according to the leaks of the previous weeks, the basic Xiaomi 13 should arrive with a flat screen, while the 13 Pro will have a curved screen and with a 2K+ resolution.
Furthermore, the Xiaomi 13 will adopt a design with four edges of the (almost) same size surrounding the screen, with three sides of 1,61 mm and the widest width of only 1,81 mm; the screen-to-body ratio reaches 93,3%. For comparison, the iPhone 14 has 2,4mm wide bezels and the iPhone 14 Pro has a 2,15mm bezel.
Wei Siqi, product manager of Xiaomi, announced that Xiaomi 13 has spent large sums of money to customize a stunning screen, which realizes a quadrilateral visual design and protects the eyes.
In terms of basic configuration, the Xiaomi 13 will be equipped with Qualcomm's second generation Snapdragon 8 processor, which can be called the new performance king for Android smartphones.
The Mi 13 series will also be waterproof with an IP68 rating and will carry a Leica-branded camera compartment. Among them, the Pro version will also come with the Sony IMX989 sensor with a size of 1 inch. This will be a first for a non-Ultra series Xiaomi smartphone.
