Smartphones Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro were announced this Sunday by the brand, along with MIUI 14. All the features leaked up to yesterday have therefore been confirmed. The news are many but to stand out on all there are the lightness of the firmware and the (usual) customization. However, the latter does not weigh down the skin that runs on Android. Xiaomi 13 arrives with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, the screen is of the AMOLED E6 type and the refresh rate is 120Hz. The battery capacity is 4.500 mAh, in addition to the 67W charger which, according to the brand, can charge the smartphone in 38 minutes. During the event, the company praised the model's 7,98mm thickness, as well as its weight of 189g. While talking about its device, Xiaomi did not forget about its competitors and mentioned the iPhone 14 line several times. For example, the maximum level of screen brightness that the device can reach is 1900 nits, higher than the base model of Apple models.
As for the cameras, it comes with a 800-megapixel Sony IMX50 main sensor in the main lens with f/1.8 aperture and stabilization that Xiaomi calls HyperOIS. During the event some photos taken with the device in different situations were shown, but to know the real quality of this lens we have to wait at least March. In terms of RAM storage, the device will come with options of 8GB and 12GB of RAM. The internal memory, in turn, has three variants: 128 GB, 256 GB and 512 GB, being of the UFS 4.0 type. Finally, the model comes with IP68 certification, which guarantees resistance to water and dust.
When it came time to make the Pro version shine, Xiaomi showed several photographs taken with him to give an idea of the product's potential. However, that wasn't all he demonstrated, as he also highlighted the design of the device. It is 8.38mm thick and has curved edges unlike the standard model. As expected, the smartphone has a ceramic finish on the back. The display has a 2K resolution, with a pixel density of 522 ppi and variable refresh rate.
Xiaomi also spoke about the thermal issue on his Xiaomi 13, which promises not to heat up much. According to the manufacturer itself, the smartphone reaches around 43º during a session and this does not reduce its performance. As for the battery, it comes with a 4820mAh battery and a 120W charger. Returning to the cameras, the highlight is HyperOIS, in addition to the 1″ main sensor. Finally, the product has a 50 megapixel telephoto lens, capable of providing a 3,2x optical zoom.
In China, the Xiaomi 13 starts at €570 and the Xiaomi 13 Pro starts at €720 (at current exchange rates).
