Just today the Xiaomi 13 Ultra indeed appeared in the IMEI database, suggesting that the smartphone should be released in April this year. The device has model number 2304FPN6DC in the China version and model number 2304FPN6DG for the Global version.

The new device could also use a 989-inch Sony IMX1 sensor. Specifically, the actual size of the Sony IMX989 is 1,02 inches and uses an aspect ratio of 4:3 instead of the traditional 3:2.

The sensor adopts an advanced manufacturing process, has a faster reading speed, a Quad-Bayer color array that takes into account light input and resolution, the single pixel area is 1,6 μm, and the l The blending pixel area of four pixels into one can reach 3.2um.

This means that single-frame capture can have sufficient dynamic range, and Xiaomi can greatly reduce the HDR trigger frequency, which will bring a noticeable increase in shooting speed.

In addition, Sony IMX989 sensor supports Octa-PD phase detection focusing system which allows each sub-pixel to have focus capability, which can increase shutter speed and adjust trigger strategy of the night scene mode in a targeted manner.

As for other specs, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra will use Samsung's 2K E6 curved screen and be powered by Qualcomm's second-generation Snapdragon 8 processor.
