Xiaomi is preparing to shake up the Indian market with the launch of its new smartphone, the Xiaomi 14 Civi. In a recent video posted on X (formerly known as Twitter), the company presented a preview that closely resembles the controversial advert for Apple's iPad Pro. However, Xiaomi chose to deviate from the heavy-handed metaphor of crushed creative tools, instead opting for a sudden stop of the crushing surface, followed by the appearance of the words “Cinematic Vision", with the letters "Ci"and "Vi" in evidence.
Xiaomi mocks Apple and previews the new 14 Civi
These letters make up the word "Civi", which identifies Xiaomi's smartphone line aimed at a young audience. Until now, Civi phones have been exclusive to the Chinese market, with the latest model launched, the Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro.
While there is no official confirmation yet, rumors suggest that the Xiaomi 14 Civi could be the first phone from the Civi series to launch in India, and it is rumored to be a rebranded version of the Civi 4 Pro. If these rumors are confirmed, we could expect the device to have a AMOLED display from 6.55 inch with 1.5K resolution (2750 x 1236 pixels) and a 120Hz refresh rate.

The beating heart of the device will be the chip Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, Supported by LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 internal memory. As for the photographic sector, the back of the phone should house a triple camera with a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP telephoto lens and a 12MP ultrawide lens, while the front will be equipped with a 32MP sensor for high-quality selfies.
The Xiaomi 14 Civi should include a battery 4700mAh with support to quick charge from 67W and will be equipped with the HyperOS operating system based on Android 14, straight out of the box.
With this move, Xiaomi not only enters into direct competition with technology giants such as Apple, but also positions itself as a brand that intends to address a young and dynamic audience, which seeks cutting-edge devices without compromising on photography or design. Now we just have to see if the launch of the 14 Civi will live up to the expectations created.
