Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Ultra are finally available in Italy after their launched a few days ago, with top-notch features and some strategic choices that could be discussed. While the “Pro” model will not arrive in our market, the Ultra version promises to be the reference point for those looking for a top of the range without compromises, especially in the photographic field. The new Xiaomi 15 Ultra comes with a premium design in three colors (Black, White and Silver Chrome), with a mix of aerospace fiberglass and eco-leather which recalls the aesthetics of a professional camera.
The screen is a 6,73-inch AMOLED WQHD+ with a resolution of 3200 x 1440 pixels and a density of 522 ppi. Xiaomi promises a peak brightness of 3200 nits and introduces the new Shield Glass 2.0, which should guarantee 16 times greater resistance to drops than the previous model.
Below the display, the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor allows unlocking even with wet or dirty fingers, significantly improving the user experience compared to classic optical sensors.
Sul Retro the huge camera module stands out, protected by the new Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, which not only improves scratch and drop resistance, but also reduces refractions and flare in photos.

Here too, the peak brightness is 3200 nits, with a M9 OLED panel customized that consumes 10% less compared to the previous generation.
The main difference compared to the Ultra is in the photographic sector: Xiaomi 15 has a triple camera with focal lengths from 14mm to 120mm:

- main sensor: 50 megapixels, 1/1,31” with f/1.62 aperture and optical stabilization
- 60mm telephoto lens: 50 megapixels (Samsung JN5) with zoom up to 120mm via crop
Xiaomi 15 also supports video recording 8K at 30fps and Dolby Vision in 4K 60fps across all focal lengths, and features four microphones for more versatile audio recording.
Processor and battery: Snapdragon X Elite and silicon-carbon batteries
Both models are powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen3 with differences on RAM:
- Xiaomi 15: 12GB RAM and storage up to 512GB
- Xiaomi 15Ultra: It starts from 16GB of RAM and goes up to 1TB of internal storage.
The battery of Xiaomi 15Ultra and from 5410mAh, slightly reduced compared to the Chinese version of 6000mAh, with silicon-carbon technology for greater efficiency. Xiaomi 15 instead it has a 5240mAh.
For charging:
- Xiaomi 15Ultra supports wired charging 90W and wireless a 80W.
- Xiaomi 15 supports wired charging 90W and wireless a 50W.
HyperOS 2.0: Xiaomi's AI integrates with Google Gemini
With the launch of new smartphones, Xiaomi also introduces HyperOS 2.0, the customized operating system that brings numerous AI-based features:
- AI Writing and AI Speech Recognition for text and audio
- AI Image Enhancement and AI Eraser Pro to improve photos
- AI Magic Sky to replace the sky in images
Thanks to the collaboration with Google, Xiaomi has integrated Gemini AI, which can perform actions directly in Xiaomi apps (such as taking notes or marking events in the calendar).
