Xiaomi 17 Pro and Pro Max: The new flagships with rear displays revealed

The brand Xiaomi has turned the spotlight on its next generation of premium smartphones, offering the first official look at the series Xiaomi 17 Pro, which will be presented by the end of September in China. After the Xiaomi 17 series launch confirmed, the company has released teasers on social media that reveal some of the most anticipated new features, particularly for the Pro and Pro Max models.

The real aesthetic and functional revolution comes on the back: Xiaomi has replaced the entire camera module with a secondary display. This isn't just a decorative element, but an interactive screen that promises to manage notifications, schedules, AI functions, multitasking, and even cross-device interactions. A significant evolution compared to the small display seen on the Mi 11 Ultra, which now becomes an integral part of the user experience.

The collaboration with Leica continues on this generation, with the logo clearly visible on the back. The camera module houses three sensors: two main ones arranged vertically and a third, smaller one next to the flash. The focus on imaging remains central, with Xiaomi aiming to consolidate its position among the best camera phones on the market.

The Xiaomi 17 Pro will be a compact flagship, with a 6,3-inch AMOLED display, 1.5K resolution, and an adaptive refresh rate of 1 to 120Hz. The 6.300mAh battery will support 100W fast charging and 50W wireless charging. The Pro Max, on the other hand, will offer a 6,8-inch panel with 2K resolution and an impressive 94% screen-to-body ratio, powered by a 7.500mAh battery.

All three models in the Xiaomi 17 series, including the base model, will be equipped with the brand-new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, putting Xiaomi ahead of competitors who won't launch their devices until October. Among these are rumored models such as the Honor Magic 8, OnePlus 15, iQOO 15, and Realme GT 8 Pro.

According to rumors, Xiaomi will officially unveil the series on September 26, beating the competition and aiming to dominate the flagship segment in the Chinese market.
