Xiaomi has officially revealed its plans for its next big launch: the Xiaomi 17 series will be presented in September, marking a change of direction compared to the initial expectations that focused on the 16 series. The confirmation comes directly from Xiaomi China, which announced three models: Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro, and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max. The goal? To directly compete with Apple's highly anticipated iPhone 17 series, as the company openly stated.

The Xiaomi 17 and 17 Pro models will feature 6,3-inch displays with ultra-thin bezels, while the Pro Max will go up to 6,8 inches. All three devices will feature OLED panels with 2K resolution, promising top-notch visual quality. The Pro will be a compact flagship, designed for those seeking high performance in a more manageable package.
The real news is under the hood: the 17 series will be the first in the world to mount the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, the most powerful chip ever produced by Qualcomm. This places Xiaomi at the forefront of the race for Android flagships, even ahead of competitors such as OPPO and POCO.
The battery will be another strong point: we're talking about 7.000mAh for the base model, 6.300mAh for the compact Pro and up to 7.500mAh for the Pro Max. All models will support wireless charging, making the user experience even smoother and more modern.
On the photography front, Xiaomi is aiming high: the Pro and Pro Max models will feature a 590-megapixel SmartSens 50 main sensor, accompanied by a 50-megapixel ultrawide and a periscope telephoto lens. The front camera will also be 50MP with autofocus, ensuring sharp and detailed selfies.
