Xiaomi adds new portrait filters for the MIUI camera

A promise was made and it was kept. Let's talk about the quality in the photographic field that are able to give Xiaomi branded devices which are also flanked by Redmi and POCO. But in addition to taking increasingly detailed and defined photos, the smartphones of the Chinese technology giant also boast software that increasingly provides features that otherwise we would have to resort to third-party apps.

We are not only talking about special functions such as the Super Moon mode but also from the many filters in real time that allow you to take real works of art, through the small lens of the MIUI camera. Here in this regard, Xiaomi with the release of the top of the range MI 11, has increased new filters dedicated to portrait mode, a new set consisting of 6 algorithms that will allow you to obtain impactful and unique results.

All 6 MIUI camera filters have the purpose of highlighting the framed subject, a human body in particular and highlighting it against the background that will blend in an artistic way with the rest of the scene. For example, we find the Blind effect and the Misty Window effect, perhaps the two most complex filters of the 6 available, the first acting on the background lights with respect to the framed subject, creating a sort of plexiglass effect multilayer while the second, simulates the effect of viewing from behind a glass window on a gloomy day, so much so that you can see the drops of water.

Then we find the sketch effect and the watercolor effect, two filters that we actually already know as they are present in the Gallery app, revealing themselves when we try to edit a photo. Now they are integrated into the native filters of the MIUI camera app. Also in this case, the background will be changed in the appearance of a painting painted with the technique of watercolor or sketch.

The last two filters of the camera app respond to the name of RGB effect, probably derived from the social video TikTok, so much so that in the latter's logo we find the effect in action, a sort of red and blue light trail that goes to simulate the 3D depth of the subject. Finally we find the Fail effect, which will practically distort the whole background with respect to the framed subject, so it is recommended to use it with two-tone backgrounds for a greater effect.

At the moment the new portrait filters for the camera app are only available for the Xiaomi Mi 11 in the ROM China version, but the Xiaomi director of photography has announced that the new features will soon be released for most of the brand's devices .
